Himanshu Borase

After graduating in 2001, I did my postgraduate diploma in obstetrics and gynaecology in Mumbai, India. I came to the UK in 2005 and worked in Wales initially. Then I started my training in the South West of England where I gained wide exposure in obstetrics and gynaecology, by working in different hospitals and with experienced consultants and colleagues.

I trained in infertility over the last 10 years and got an opportunity to work in the largest satellite clinic in the UK, the busiest delivery suite in the South West (Gloucester) and one of the largest IVF units in the UK (Oxford).

This training helped me to gain knowledge and become confident in managing patients with subfertility issues and also helped me to be competent in performing various surgical procedures.

I am a competent scanner and like to scan my own patients so I have all the required information. I am confident in hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgeries required in infertility patients.

Currently I am working as the lead fertility consultant at Watford General Hospital since 2014 and we have developed a ‘One Stop’ service for our NHS as well as private patients

I also perform various surgical procedures required as part of the fertility treatment both on the NHS as well as for private patients

My aim is always to make sure that my patients are thoroughly investigated, scanned and talked about various factors affecting their fertility and provide them with the best possible care so they do not lose valuable time to succeed in ther treatments

My patients find me to be very calm, professional, and relaxed as I explain things with drawings and give them plenty of time to discuss their individual needs. In 2012, I was nominated for the patient’s choice award at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.
