Parijat Bhattacharjee FRCOG FICOG

Parijat Bhattacharjee FRCOG FICOG is a Consultant Gynaecologist with special interest in Fertility management and Reproductive Surgery. He has trained as a Clinical Fellow at University College London Hospitals in Infertility management.

He believes in one to one individualised care for each Fertility patient and in extensive but quick assessment and treatment to avoid delay and make their experience smooth and comfortable.  He is an RCOG trainer for Advanced modules in Gynaecology & Fertility Ultrasound and is on the Editorial Board of the RCM Journal, ‘Ultrasound’. He is also a trainer for ISUOG. He does all ultrasound scans including HyCoSy.

He has trained extensively in Minimal Access Surgery (Lapraroscopy & Hysteroscopy) at Royal Free Hospital & St. George’s Hospital Minimal Access Surgery Department. He is an RCOG trainer for Benign Gynaecological Surgery & in Hysteroscopy & Laparoscopy courses including at Chelsea & Westminster. He is a Joint Editor of the Newsletter of the International Society of Reproductive Surgery. He does most of his Fertility preserving surgeries as day cases through Laparoscopy or Hysteroscopy so as to ensure quick recovery and minimal pain and complications.

Apart from Infertility he sees general Gynaecology patients including one stop menstrual disorder and one stop pelvic pain clinics and performs most gynaecological surgeries Laparoscopically or hysteroscopically including ovarian cysts, endometriosis, fibroid removal or hysterectomies.

Outside his normal work, he is an Invigilator for MRCOG & DRCOG examinations and is on the DRCOG subcommittee of the RCOG. He is also an International Faculty of MRCOG courses (RCOG) and Essential Obstetrics & Newborn care (LSTM-WHO) to decrease maternal and infant mortality is low resource countries. He does extensive charity work towards improvement of maternal and child health in India and Africa.

He is the Lead for R&D in his department and has published and presented extensively in International conferences and publications.

He is a wildlife enthusiast and enjoys photography and has a keen interest in archaeology & history and involved with groups in preservation of heritage.
